The United States Under-17 national team takes to the field at the Nike International Friendlies in Lakewood Ranch, Fla., again, looking to build off its first performance of the tournament with a matchup against Turkey (5 p.m., Fox Soccer Channel).
The United States played France to a 2-2 draw in its first game on Wednesday, getting a highlight-reel strike from DeAndre Robinson before getting a last-gasp equalizer from Wesley Wade. Turkey, meanwhile, fell to Brazil in its first game by a 1-0 scoreline and will be looking for a better result the second time around.
If you will be watching the match, please feel free to share any thoughts, opinions and some play-by-play in the comments section below. Enjoy the action.

Entire first row doing the Altidore seat-evading maneuver, #10 looks like he might be holding back on the follow-through
Any links?
hahahaha Altidore is spreading this. but why
These kids look to have a very soft touch on the ball, good to see from young Americans.
links please? can’t seem to find any
This Florez kid looks pretty good. Cap Him!
[dubyadubyadubyadot]limev[dotcom]/extremegoal6sxs seems to work well
thanks
GOOOOOLLLL
And I missed the goal – damn… nice goal?
Hate to crank up the hype machine but this USA team looks VERY good. Great going forward, great first touch, and great ball movement. Good stuff. Up 1-0 already.
Let’s not get carried away, we’re playing a team that’s only there because they didn’t get picked for Thanksgiving…wait wrong Turkey.
Things can change quickly at the U17 level. Hopefully the US stays focused.
So are these kids closer to 15 than 17? That’s how old a U17 team would normally be 2 years prior to the u17 World Cup.
Correct
Don’t know if I can really wait 6 years or so for them to surface at the Olympics or MLS (or Europe). They’re looking solid! Oh well, with some luck they’ll explode onto the scene early like Adu (actually, scratch that
)
For a youth friendly, the ref’s really letting them play, not calling much.
That red may have been a bit harsh – it was studs up but the turk didn’t really have any forward motion by the time he made contact with the US player.
I love how the announcer said the tackle “was not reckless”
It wasnt
I agree.
What is the score so fare?
Sorry, but the kid was obviously not in control of his tackle. I understand he didnt go put his studs into him, but he sure as hell was not under control.
1-0 USA
I’ll have to see it again, but it really looked like the kid was practically stopped, sitting on his butt, by the time contact happened. So I wouldn’t call it elegant, but I wouldn’t call it “reckless” either.
Wasnt in control? He won the ball clean, his cleats didnt even touch flores
1-1, Where was the defensive organization on that?
Great – now I missed the turkish goal too… got to pay attention.
Anytime you spread you legs like that in a scissor motion it’s an automatic red card. I ref class they are very adamant that you must straight red anyone who tackles like that. Not to mention it was studs up. That’s how legs get broken.
85′
usa looked better playing ten turks than they do playing eleven. Really good 2nd half response from the turks. US had chances to tie but missed; and turkish keeper made one awesome save (read the shot on a 1v1).
so what was the final?
WHAT A GOAL!Right at the end.
Flores is a stud
Ridiculous movement and unselfishness for the US! 2-1!
This Flores kid has some sort of composure and skill.. ended up finishing it at the end. Really nice. And his name is Herbert? That’s fantastic.
Sweet!!!!! 2-1 . Perfect setup by Wade when the whole stadium thought he’d try another bicycle kick.
USA goal, 2-1 in 88th? Nice break on goal, started by a nice flores turn; ball crossed in from the right and deflects up. Robinson smartly heads it down to flores to finish it from a yard out.
was it wade? my bad
Not a bad game. I like the opposition–solid.
The crowd is obnoxious. Need to be smacked by their mommas.
They need to get those toddlers away from the mike!
You’ve got those backwards, they looked better against 11 than 10.
Flores looks like he could really develop into an exciting player for us.
The kid looks like he was the best player on the field in both game the US has played in.
someone please post the highlights when they are available!
Sort of like that GEICO commercial of the caveman stealing third.
Game is being replayed at 11pm tonight
Ok, i’ve got another team to root for. Flores is awesome as is Wade. Still trying to learn who’s who. Turkey kept trying to play long ball to their left forward, but the speedy US right back caught him over and over.
I’m not sure where all these + comments are coming from. Both teams were VERY underwhelming. The game was more of a slugfest than an exhibition of skill. Sure there were a couple of moments, but the game was full of errant passing and poor first touches. Just being honest.
Screw you kimo
I love that it’s 2011 and I can watch these games on TV. Enjoyed the parts I saw.
It was Wesley Wade who headed it to Flores and not Robinson
Besides Flores, I thought Steven Echevaria looked quite good as a defensive mid with good poise and ball handling skillls

Highlights are up. Kids are on the front page. Flores is a player. Robinson and Wade too!
US Soccer has a YouTube channel to which they post highlights from games in a pretty timely manner, well worth a subscription.
thank you, may I have another
Uh, they’re 15ish. I’ve seen worse from fully grown professionals.
Flores played well and definitely created the chances for the us team. He did give the ball away in the middle of the field a number of times, but using the same moves that created some goal scoring opportunties. The passes through the back were not crisp and at tiimes they were telegraphed, putting the outside defenders and holding midfield in bad positions. I thought the forward #13, bain?, from the surf, had some great touch and moves… Pretty fast too. I would like to see those moves create some chances on goal, he kept using them to hold. Maybe he is a finisher, but we didn’t see it tonight.
Kind of surprised with all the positive comments here. I thought the Americans looked pretty awful in the Turkey game. The defense was getting beat easily in 1v1 situations and weren’t able to clear the ball well. They let a 10 man side score in the first 5 minutes of the 2nd half. They gave away a ton of passes in the midfield. They looked like an exact replica of everything wrong with the USMNT: inept on the ball, impatient, weak physically. The only touch of class was the beautiful assist to Flores on the goal. That took patience, skill and awareness.
Oh but the one real difference was the attack. When they got the ball they were dangerous. I’ll say that is a huge difference between these kids and the USMNT. CONFIDENCE.
Our right winger is a talented young dude.
Kick me in the jimmy!
Flores was the most skilled player on the pitch.
