The good news for Festus (I read this on another website) is that they held on to win 3-2, so it’s all good. It’s a Hong Kong league match, in case anyone’s wondering.
You can’t be serious… you think a defender is so talented that when he does a crazy scorpion kick and scores an own goal from that far out, he’s doing it on purpose as part of some sort of match fixing conspiracy?
Why wouldn’t he just kick the ball to an opposing forward and give him an easy chance on goal?
In any case, what I notice from posts is that people are often amazed by technical feats.
I played in one of the lowest organized leagues possible when I lived in Hamburg (Germany) and I saw guys on my team do stuff I have NEVER seen in the pros, and certainly not in MLS.
People were freaking out about Dempsey’s goal against Juventus last year. Some even saying that the goal was not intentional.
Horse pucky. That was a thing of beauty!
All over the world there are people doing amazing things with the ball.
We just don’t see it that often in this country.
1. No, I don’t think the scorpion goal was completely intentional.
2. Yes, I can imagine him not really caring where the ball landed because he may have been paid to lose the match.
Simply sublime.
scorpion, you deserves props for that even if you only score on your own team.
Was that a scorpion kick?
Who knew an own goal could be so impressive…
If only he meant to do that lmao- hell of a goal.
Ouch. The other team couldn’t even celebrate it.
Definitely best own-goal of all time. Perhaps, best goal of any kind of all time.

Even better than Inigo Marntinez!
Both teams are just like, wtf….
+1
the music makes it even betta
Who’s saying he didn’t?
Corruption is massive in Asia.
That hand slap by his teammate made my raise an eyebrow.
But you’re probably right.

screw own goal, that might be the best goal i’ve ever seen period.
its funny that some of the best goals are own goals.
Pretty sure he’s being a smart @$$
This goal was so good I’m not sure I would take advantage of it if I was the other coach…. lol
I’d be like “Hey ref, can we just let that one go?”
Jeff Agoos vs. Portugal, 2002 World Cup was better. link to youtube.com

Holy moly…
HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!
Why would Festus try a diving scorpion from there?
It’s a Fest(iv)us miracle!
Tony Popovic’s own goal (Crystal Palace v Portsmouth) is a pretty one – not quite as spectacular as this one, but getting there.
