Clint Dempsey will try to add to his record breaking goal-scoring pace today when Fulham takes on Liverpool today (2:55pm, ESPN2).
Liverpool enters the match still trying to catch Manchester City for the final Champions League place in England, but Fulham will look to play spoiler as Dempsey returns from a slight injury that kept him out of Fulham's last match.

Yeah, that was an intentional elbow. His arm was well away from his body and made pretty perfect contact. Dempsey knew just what he was doing.

I could agree with that argument. It did continue into the box though and that’s why I would give the penalty. Denying a clear goal scoring opportunity as well.
Either way, it is a foul and nothing was called. Maybe the official feels bad for Fulham.
That is about as evident an elbow as you’ll find. He knows better than to make the full arm motion, but there’s little difference in jumping into someone with the elbow and being stationary and moving it.

Dempsey to score in the 2nd half. Bring on Zamora and AJ and you’ll see much better cohesion. Liverpool will probably win 5-0 though
If this game ends 3-0, Liverpool will be 10-3-3 under King Kenny (which includes the loss to Blackpool some 5 days after he took over), with 33 goals scored and 10 against.

Suarez is playing the target striker role in a unique fashion. It’s called a “false nine”. He’s starting from the lone striker position, then dropping into the midfield and drifting wide. First of all, if the defenders follow, it creates gaps in the backline for onrushing midfielders to exploit(Maxi Rodriguez). Second, it gives them more men in the midfield to pass around Fulham, which they did, and quite well. Fulham should switch to a 4-3-3 and leave Liverpool’s deepest central midfielder open so they can deal with Suarez dropping into the midfield.

Liverpool just too quick and too inventive and too much lead. Fulham is frustrated, but I wanna see if they can regain some composure and make it a game in the 2nd half.
Dempsey getting involved in build-up play very well, and the could potentially have had two goals already.

Salcido needs to play it simple. He’s lost the ball more then a few times going forward by trying to be cute with the ball, and it hasn’t worked for him yet. Dempsey is looking lively though, so that’s good.
How Fulham is playing Suarez is everything that is wrong with the EPL, with MLS, and with certain coaches like Mourihno.
At what point did it become acceptable to think “we cannot stop this certain player so we are going to cynically foul and hack them so that they are never capable of involving themselves.”

Yeah, I think that’s a bit dissappointing. There is nothing wrong with taking advantage of the physical difference, but Fulham need to be careful. Shackling everyone with yellow cards is not the key.

Not a clear penalty. Argument could be made that it was but it looked to me that Suarez went down long after contact was made.

You are allowed to extend your arms while in mid-air to balance yourself as long as your eyes are on the ball. Clint was going for the ball the whole time, and a head happened to hit his elbow. Unless you are inside Clint Dempsey’s head, you have no idea if he intended to injure. Frustration gets the best of players, but that wasn’t a flagrant elbow and he was rightfully not shown a card for it. The scissor kick on the ground however…
Probably like 60 years ago… Fulham got what they deserved from the match, so I don’t know why you are complaining.
