USMNT vs. Argentina: Behind the scenes
This entry was posted in U.S. Men's National Team. Bookmark the permalink.

I love watching these behind the scenes videos the USMNT puts out. Those close up views really show give you more perspective. The game looked intense on ESPN, but watching Bocanegra getting physical with Argentina…really shows you how tough they played. And Jozy appeared to get double, sometimes triple teamed whenever he got the ball.
love the down-on-the-field footage. I was at the game, and felt that it was basically messi against tim howard. watching this makes even clearer-tim was just a beast that night. he earned the draw.
and little messi, in person and up close, is a force of nature.
I’m pretty sure I could do Bob Bradley’s job. I’ll do it for $100,000 a year. I could definitely give a better platitude rich motivational halftime speech than Bradley, that’s for sure. Does he have Tourette’s, by the way?
Whether you like the half-time speach or not, you gotta give the guy credit-the boys almost always come out fired up and playing better. They certainly did that night. And while you might find the speach simple-i thought the message, based on how we played the first half (not stringing passes together, guys not moving and showing for the ball) was exactly right.
Of course, it would be nice if they started that way once in a while..
You’re out of your mind. You have no idea how hard it is to motivate a bunch of pros after they have have been thoroughly undressed by the other team.
I thought it was impressive how Bradley sought to change their mindset, get them to think a bit differently in the second half.
The proof is in their play. The team performed much better in the second half.
Maybe Bob should think about giving the half-time speech before the game starts?
Timmy was huge!
Ha,Bradley’s halftime talk was the same I do with my U12 kids. Pass and move. “maybe we can string 5 or 6 passes together”. What a concept!
Yet somehow he’s been a success at every level and you’re still coaching u12′s. It’s almost as if there’s more to the job than what you can see on youtube. Hmm.
Define successful.
I have nothing against the man. I just think its pathetic that our boys don’t know they’re supposed to move after passing the ball.
yeah i think fans are a little too tough on jozy. they say he loses the ball too much, doens’t do enough with it when he does get it, etc. but i think our forwards have to drop way too deep to receive the ball, and when they do receive it, they’re roughed up by 2 defenders and a mid. dempsey too, he gets fouled ALL the time. i wonder what the other teams scouting report says about us.
Soccer’s a simple game, bro. Sometimes players try to make it too complicated against superior competition, at every level.
It says we give up the ball too easily under pressure
LOVE this videos…at least when we get a result. hehe. A couple things stood out to me:
-pause it at :14 seconds into it to get a view of the defensive plans. Guess Bradley was in charge of watching Messi?? Haha…worst job in the world.
-WOW. Does Howard slap DeMerritt’s hand away when he tries to dap him at 1:17?? Daaaaaymn!! I don’t know if that’s the Tourettes talkin, but…that’s our boy!
Don’t be silly, no ONE stops Messi. What Bradley did was exactly what needed to be done, intercept passes when possible, get goal-side (as much as you can on such a quick player), do not over-commit and make it easy for Messi, make his presence known and make Messi’s play predictable so others (Onweyu, Demerit and Jones) can commit to making clean tackles.
that board simply shows how both teams will be lined-up. It doesnt state any specific game plan
