These spotlights are great — for Red Bull fans. Time to start calling these what they really are: SBI RBNY spotlight.

  2. GSScasual says:

probably it is convenience. He lives close. other than that… quit complaining, he still deserves the spotlight

  3. Wm. says:

Mendes—solid on the backline and not afraid to get stuck in. He’s keeping it rill.

  4. zacalie says:

No problem with Mendes getting a spotlight, I just haven’t seen any other “MLS” players get the spotlight outside of RBNY players. So let’s call it what it really is.

(SBI-Gotta love when a person’s second and third-ever comments on SBI are to complain about the site. See ya.)

hah calm down. Ives and crew (the guys with video capabilities) are based in NY/NJ. if you can record segments like these at equal or better quality offer those services up. This is not a full-time job for them and I’m sure they can’t/won’t fly around the country to record 2:30 long videos.

  6. Jimmy Bobo says:

Mendes has done well this year and his play is one of the reasons the MetroBulls are at the top of the East. That said, the boy needs to work on his interview skills. He said “you know” 18 times in a two-and-a-half minute clip. I’m sure he doesn’t even realize he’s saying it.

  7. jonk says:

There was an Omar Gonzales video spotlight. But like everyone else is saying, the main opportunity to do these in when players are in the NY/NJ area, so for the time being expect to see either RBNY players or their opponents.
