The English Premier League is back and it kicks off with a handful of juicy season-opening match-ups.

Tottenham and Manchester City faced off in a great battle for fourth place last season and this time around Manchester City will be looking to take care of unfinished business. Liverpool will begin its climb back to the Top Four on Sunday with a key battle against Arsenal. Those of you hoping to watch some Americans in action can see Clint Dempsey and Stuart Holden square off in the Fulham-Bolton clash.

The best weekend soccer action isn't just in England. Major League Soccer's marquee match-up features the New York Red Bulls playing host to the Los Angeles Galaxy, though some MLS fans would argue that the real MLS Cup preview is being played at Rio Tinto Stadium between Real Salt Lake and the Columbus Crew on Saturday night.

These are just some of the weekend's prime matches. Here is a rundown of This Weekend's Soccer on TV:

You could argue that RSL-Columbus is the marquee match-up in MLS, especially with all the trash talk Columbus has been spewing this week.

  2. Smirking Kitten says:

I cannot wait for tomorrow! Let’s go you Whites!

  3. Matt says:

For those of you who want a legal way to watch games online, there’s foxsoccer.tv. It’s $15/month, which I think is pretty pricey, but they’re showing a ton of games, and many of their television, tape-delayed games are live on their website.

  4. Smirking Kitten says:

Another great way is veetle.com. They tend to have quality feeds (including an FSC channel) and cover all the big matches.

  5. Smirking Kitten says:

    oh, and it’s free :-p

  6. PC says:

What a beautiful sight this is.

  7. Sonicdeathmonkey says:

Stu vs. Clint? Count me in.

  8. WhiteHart says:

I know E.J. was in contention for a spot on the bench, but when will we know if he made it?

  9. afasf says:

so bradley quit and is taking over the aston villa job?

  10. grubbsbl says:

About an hour before the game tomorrow. Ives, stop tweeting about your HD experience, it is killing me to watch the same programs in low D.

  11. GunneRR says:

Red Bulls-Galaxy on Saturday, followed by Arsenal-Liverpool on Sunday?? Pure bliss!

  12. that guy says:

So veetle is a safe place to watch the games?

  13. Tim F. says:

This is a great feature of the blog! I don’t believve FS+ is offered on Cablevision so I won’t see any of those games. Here are my plans:

    SATURDAY

    7:45am- Tottenham vs. Manchester City

10am- Aston Villa vs. West Ham

6pm- New York Red Bulls vs. Los Angeles Galaxy

    SUNDAY

    11am- Liverpool vs. Arsenal

    3pm- Sao Paulo vs. Cruzeiro

    5:30pm- America vs. Atlas

Most intriguing matchup – Liverpool vs. Arsenal

  14. alexgcsuf says:

i have not had any problems. plus your able to watch other shows.

  15. narog says:

Are people watching Fulham vs Bolton online or on the tape delay? I want to see it live but would rather watch it on tv :\

  16. narog says:

also any chance they will reveal the score of Fulham-Bolton during the Chelsea – WBA match on FSC?

  17. Joe says:

I hear ya, I’m in the same boat as you. Hopefully foxsoccer tv picks it up the Fulham game. I have a Mac and can’t get some or most of the veetle or myP2P broadcasts.

  18. beachbum says:

Galaxy-Red Bulls…what a matchup, and it’s going down in the USA??? oh yeah baby!

  19. Hush says:

It would be nice if we could add ET or CT on the time schedules. I’m just saying.. :)

  20. Smirking Kitten says:

As far as I can tell, yes.

  21. ... says:

FSC itself won’t– ie during the halftime show– but I don’t know about the in-game commentary.

  22. ... says:

Everything on SBI is always Eastern time.

  23. kev says:

Thanks for mentiong veetle.com you guys. I usually use Justin.tv but usually those feeds die after 25mins or so.

I sure hope Holden will start for Bolton or at least on the bench.

  24. Mig22 says:

De Jong had his first ugly tackle at the 1 minute mark. Consistent SOB, isn’t he?

  25. Beckster says:

the spurs/city game is as entertaining as any game I have seen in quite some time. City certainly has a “keeper” with Hart. It’s like the City goal has an invisible shield in front of it’

  26. USMNT says:

St. Etienne vs Sochaux! No Bocanegra. No Davies.
