Benny Feilhaber completed his recovery from the ankle injury that sidelined him nearly six weeks by coming off the bench in AGF Aarhus' 4-0 victory against Esbjerg on Wednesday.

Feilhaber made a 20-minute cameo for Aarhus and his appearance marked the first time he's played for the club since December.

The new of Feilhaber's recovery is just the latest bit of good news for the U.S. national team, which had recently been struck by a plague of injuries.

It wasn't all good news on Wednesday, though.

Aalborg BK forward Marcus Tracy was ruled out for the season with tendinitis in his knee. Tracy is traveling to the United States to undergo a new procedure that will help him with his recovery.

Tracy picked up the injury prior the U.S. men's national team camp in January. He scored one goal in eight appearances for Aalborg this season.

What do you think of Feilhaber making his return? Surprised Tracy's tendinitis has lingered this long?

  1. John1 says:

Glad Benny is playing again. Hopefully Jermaine Jones will be the next good news we hear.

  2. ZacIndy says:

Yeah a JJ update would be cool. At this point I’d be happy if he was able to help us out for GC2011 to get us into the Confed Cup.

  3. afrim says:

feilhaber makes the 23 man roster if healthy…good news. Now i want to see Gooch get his stuff going with ACM. JJ to me at this point will just be an extra credit bonus

  4. froboy says:

agreed, gooch and davies are key, if we get them back and playing for their club teams that is huge

  5. Benjamin says:

If Edu and Feilhaber can stay healthy and can get quality minutes leading up to June, it will help our midfield tremendously. Jones and, maybe more importantly, Holden are then ones to look at now in completing the midfield picture.

  6. Josh D says:

Gooch is next line for the come back, followed by Holden, then Davies. Hopefully JJ gets in there somewhere.

Poor news for Tracy – he’s had it rough over there. Love me some Benny so looking forward to seeing him firing on all cylinders!!

  7. ImaGoalMan says:

Great shot of Benny to go along with getting minutes at Aarhus. Hope Tracy heals up soon, though I’m guessing he wasn’t near the plane to SA anyway unless he suddenly got H. Gomez H-O-T with scoring.

  8. timothy says:

My eyes skipped to “tendinitis in his knee. Tracy is traveling to the United States to undergo a new procedure that will help him with his recovery” I want to know more about this procedure!

  9. bigvic says:

so how did benny play Franco? A couple of lines of that would’ve been great.

  10. garbaggio says:

John O’Brien should be healthy and pretty well rested.

  11. Franky says:

Ives, a Gooch update would be great! Davies said on twitter Gooch would be back soon, but is he fully training yet?

  12. war says:

sounds like more placenta talk to me

  13. Eric says:

Hop off. No need to be rude. Anyways there were 3 goals scored after he came on so i can’t imagine he played terrible.

  14. Stanley Villa says:

Lil Mikey is crocked too, now, as he broke his nose in practice with Gladbach.

  15. Loiuis Z says:

JJ needs to go to brazil and recoup there like benny

  16. Brian says:

Nahhh dude. He just needs some Hashimoto magic

  17. Who's That says:

    Yeah and Gunther Armadeus too.

  18. Lost in Space says:

Happy that Benny’s Back and playing. I feel Bad for Tracy and wish him the best in his recovery. Like most others posting above it appears as if the USMNT is finally healing up, but as stated above would be great to get a full update on those still in recovery, where they are and what their target full return to club is…

    1) Davies

    2) Gooch

    3) Holden

    4) J. Jones
