With a big slate of games in the EPL today, as well as CONCACAF Champions League, Copa Libertadores and another Maurice Edu start for Glasgow Rangers, this is a good day to have a Your Running Commentary post.

Enjoy the mid-week action.

Newcastle 1-0 Man U after 10′
Landon playing? Did Freddy play?
Landon didn’t even make the bench. This seems to be a really important game to Bayern. Perhaps they think this is their only chance for a championship this season.
I tuned into Man U-Newcastle in the 22nd minute- and Man U had already equalized.
kinda pissed about Newcastle giving it away so early/easy, but hey – that’s Newcastle.
Manic – where are you watching it? Setanta? Or is it online somewhere?
Maurice Edu is starting.
29th minute- Gutierrez dances around a few defenders in his own half, but his long pass to switch fields goes out of play.
Gutierrez’s best game this season was probably the 1-1 draw at Old Trafford to open the season.

merci beaucoups
Go Magpies!
any links for the fulham game?
fulham link would be amazing. anybody?
links to the Man U game???
The link I put up crapped out for me at about the same time I put it up. The only thing I can find now is a sopcast channel, which is 6029.
landon is on the bench…
Ronaldo dives in order to get Steven Taylor a yellow card for Newcastle, which is just about the last thing to happen as the half ends.
Except that Rio Ferdinand just got a yellow or something before leaving the pitch at the half.
It’s 1-1. Don’t have anything to say because I missed 95% of the half.
A few things just based on the 1st half highlights.
-Van Der Saar absolutely should have stopped the Jonas Gutierrez shot which led to Lovenkrands’ rebound goal.
- Martins should have scored another for Newcastle, but pushed his shot wide.
- Vidic missed a header with a gaping net but pushed it high.
half time at Ibrox 0-0
Inter getting killed now its 3-0
atdhe.net had the link to Fulham earlier, but I cant find it now. So if anyone has it please post it.
Listen folks, I am going to Twitter the second half of Man Utd-Newcastle. Basically a running commentary via Twitter. Even if you don’t have Twitter, you can see the updates on the top right side of SBI.
Who’s interested?
Adu made the bench, but did not play.
Podolski and Schweinsteiger enter in the 63rd. Leverkusen just went up 2-0. No Landon yet.
Definitely, Ives.
I’m watching on setanta 2-1 man U berbatov on 55 minutes
Now that’s the Newcastle defense that I was expecting. 2-1 Man U.
GOAL UNITED. Berbatov, from Park. Rooney, sliding into Center Back while Vidic got treatment for a cut, sends a long pass to Park in the area, he touches it past the Newcastle keeper and a wide-open Berbatov finishes. United 2, Newcastle 1.
Adu has got to get out of there. His whole 2008 can pretty much be summed up like this:
* Great play at Olympic qualifiers, including two free-kick goals in clincher.
* Outstanding performance vs. Holland in Beijing but subbed out by idiot Nowak and suspended for crucial third group match.
* Great free kick goal for USA vs. Guatemala in WCQ.
* Bench for Benfica after Olympic qualifiers and garbage time for Monaco in a handful of games.
This after a 2007 that saw him play great in the U-20 World Cup and score some nice goals, mostly off the bench, for Benfica.
2009 is looking bad. He seems trapped until the summer at least. Then what? Benfica still owns his rights.
After jumping out 3-0 in the 70th minute to Leverkusen… it’s now 3-2 in the 74th. Wow! (Still no Landon)
Here’s what Newcastle has on the bench as far as attacking players: Shola Ameobi, Andy Carroll, who’s been okay this year but is barely out of the youth team. Kazenga LuaLua is also an attacking player, who has made 2 premiership appearances for about 15 minutes total.
@ Ibrox 63:45 Edu is subbed off
Good stuff from United.
Edu subbed off in 64′ for Lafferty….he’s listed as a striker so maybe they feel the need for some more offense?
Bring on Ameobi like!
What’s the formation and lineup for United?
Dempsey just hit the left post
now whose got my fulham link?
Van Buyten is Munich’s final sub. So much for Landon playing against his old club.
that’s “who’s got.” sorry, I’m ashamed.
Rooney Berbatov
Park Fletcher Carrick Ronaldo
Evra Ferdinand Vidic O’Shea
Van Der Saar
Martins
Lovenkrands
Gutierrez Smith Geremi R. Taylor
Enrique Bassong Collicini S. Taylor
Harper
Nice break from United. I dont see a goal from Newcastle coming…..
You know why I like this sub for Newcastle? Because it takes off the one player who can consistantly put a good ball into the box and strike a free kick, and brings on a guy who can win balls in the air.
Bleh.
….ok it just stopped broadcasting…..
Spector came on in the 78th minute.
On the plus side, I think Newcastle got beat something like 11-1 aggregate over the two games they played in the premiership last year, so 3-2 is quite an improvement.
wow… inverness just scored a pk in the 90th against rangers
Stoppage time goal allows Hull City to sink Fulham….
Solid performance by Dempsey…it’s a shame they couldn’t get at least a point out of it.
unbelievable for Fulham and Rangers…c’mon…finish the game against lesser opponents. Shameful to drop points like that.
COME ON YOU SPURS!!! 4-0…Fantastic performance against a flat, mistake ridden ‘Boro side.
No Landon and Bayern fall to Leverkusen.
City won 2-nil but villa was the better side in the second half
Jeff Cunningham has scored for FCD vs CAP.
Messi does it again… levels it at 1-1 after a defensive gaffe.
If hitting the post counted for goals Clint Dempsey would be the EPL leading scorer
That Barca-Mallorca game was HIGHLY entertaining.
I believe now is the time to laugh heartily at the Rangers.
Celtic will win the Championship.
You’re still on the wrong side of Glasgow, Edu and Beasley.
FCD loses 4-3 against CAP (Brazilian Serie B) in the first leg of the USA-Brazil Challenge.
Can’t wait for Puerto Rico and Montreal games this today and tomorrow!
Boy, Marathon is throwing everything at PRI.
I love watching action like this.
Go Islanders!!!!
who was that coach attacking?
islanders score
sweet….USL USL USL

——————————————-He was attacking General Clarke’s assistant, Adrian Whitebread.
My Islanders’ jersey, scarf and cap stink from sweating out the last 30 minutes of the match.
I gotta stop trembling.
I’m about to freaking cry like a freaking baby.
My Beloved Islanders have done it yet again.
All of this in less than 5 years. In a place that the press and pundits said would never support a pro club.
Thanks to soccer fans everywhere–everyone who has adopted us since discovering that we actually exist.
IN GENERAL COLIN CLARKE I TRUST!!!
Vamos Tropa Naranja!!!
Puerto Rico Islanders FC– Amor de mis amores!!!
Congrats Yankiboy. Pretty horrible game but I’m sure the Islanders don’t give a damn. I wouldn’t put it past them winning at home versus anybody.
From a Whitecaps fan and fellow USLer.
I hope the Islanders get out of that stadium alright. It is so typical in Central America when things don’t go their way a riot breaks out. The end of the match was so heated. I loved Colin Clarke’s passion, but let’s hope that didn’t send an already frenzied and bitter crowd over the edge.
Thanks a lot carnifex.
Hoepfully we will that USL Championship trophy from you guys before you move on up to the big show.
Kartik, I also hope that the guys get out of the stadium ok. I don’t know what went down with Whitebread and the Marathon assistant (it was off-camera).
I also didn’t see what went down with Clarke. I was too busy jumping up and down and looking for the cellphone to call other Islanders fans.
I just saw the garbage getting tossed at Clarke. I gotta rewind the tape…
Did anyone see that ESPN will not be showing the Man Utd. VS Inter Milan game?
Really? Sweet deal. Who will they be showing instead?
Totally inexcusable from the Marathon crowd
